They Told Me, That I'd See, The Grand Tour

Enigma of the Cloud-Ridden Sky

As the rain begins

I feel happines once more;

Sorrow, washed away.

I’ve cried enough tears

To last my own life-time

In the oppressive silence of the night.

Crimson drops flowing in agony,

Over hurt caused by the heart.

Reminiscences I would rather forget

Reincarnated before my very eyes.

‘Remember me?’ she cawed in temptation

Revelry died.

Don’t get me wrong, for I loved her

And still now burgeoning within,

Cherubs sing their coloratua

And the devil taunts through darkness.

I brace myself as I enter the inferno

And work my way through the circles

Untill I stumble across a shinigami

Who eats the forbidden fruit.

The tables have turned,

Temptation has run riot

As tumultuously as the ebbing tide.

Something turned out quite wrong

Because it was my heart that died.

N.B. The forbidden fruit is not for our consumption

       Inevitably leading to our destruction.

Forging of Steel Hearts

Lying here in darkness,

Staring into infinite depths

Of endless parallels.

Places which connect in narcotic majesty.

Neural implantations of memories pure,

Where lonliness has no bearing

While those who have been lost

Are found once more.

A feeling of wholeness

And sense of being:

What more is needed to form humanity?

Love and honour;  the innocent man’s soul.

Feelings of regret mingle

With that of joy while,

Longing for redemption

I see the faces of all my friends

And steel myself,

For trials ahead.

Innominatam (Nameless)

Darkness all encompasing,

With the sun hiding behind an urban leviathan:

Monstruous citys of granite and stone-

Spring seems but a far flung myth

in this world of perpetual frost.

No matter what happens during daylight,

Another world belongs to the night.

Culminating hopes, dreams and doubts

Personified by erroneous indifference.

Hugging the world in eternal unknown

While planting the sapping seeds of apprehension

Into the minds of Eva Smith and Willy Loman.

The dreams of men,

The seed of commonwealths,

The germs of empires.

Corruption lies within, the Cimmerian hearts

Of those men of dreams.

Maybe I speculate too much

But in this ‘modern’ society

The truth counts for nothing

Neither loyalty, kindness nor benevolence.

In todays world we answer only to

The greed and gluttony of our primal hearts.

An Ode to Happiness Via a Day-Dream of You

I looked out this morning

At the brightest of days

Still possessing that Scottish spring chill.

I gazed at the sky,

And the infinity it portrays.

My heart skipped a beat,

At the beauty burgeoning around.

The happiness of contemptment,

Following me like a faithful hound.

Suddenly all I pictured was you.

That rueful smile, your iconic personality,

Those deep empathetic eyes.

A field so empty bathed in the summer sun.

A grand oak placed in the centre.

We walked and ran, talking about everything

Traversing this dream-field.

We sat underneath the sprawling branches of the tree,

Hand in hand.

As I plucked up the courage to make my move:

I leaned in, and softly kissed your lips.

And as I dream of this scene,

And you sitting in those skinny jeans,

I don’t fill up with regret,

But gaze off into the sunset.

Hand in hand until the worlds end.
